I would like to send my thanks to all of you who came to Allan's funeral, or gave tributes, or sent messages of sympathy when Allan died. Your support to me and my family at this difficult time has meant more than you will ever know.

I am very aware that Allan's dedicated work during the 30 years he spent at Red Hill School has touched and helped very many of you. He was, simply, a good man.

His sense of duty to a community didn't end with the closure of the school. He carried on working enthusiastically as a visiting tutor to education students, and for several local organizations. He was a valued and respected man in the village of Staplehurst. The large gathering at his funeral was a testament to his universal popularity.

My wish for all of you is that you enjoy life to the full. "Maladjusted?", I believe he once said of you; "Just a need for a little re-adjustment!"

Good luck to you all,

Sue Rimmer
